Johan "John" Matton Official

award winning actor/producer and founder of Nordic International Film Festival

Multi Award Winning, New York based, Vegan actor, screenwriter and producer Johan Patrik Fredrik Matton has contributed to the Independent Film community in New York both as an actor, writer and producer.

Johan attended and graduated from 3 major Theatre schools; the renowned Circle in The Square Theatre School on Broadway, the Meisner acting program at New York Film Academy and Calle Flygare's Theatre School in Stockholm.

Johan has performed as Vince Fontain in the musical Grease (in Spain) for 10 months and spent a year in Thailand performing in the musicals Chicago and Dream Girls before moving to New York where he has his home base.

Johan continues to produce and act in Independent films both in New York and Europe with his production company Changing Film Productions

Johan has won several awards for his performance and his producing skills. He recently won Best Picture at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards with his written/produced feature film Till We Meet Again. Johan also won Best Picture, Award of Merit Special Mention: Actor: Leading (Johan Matton as Erik) at the Indie Fest, Award of Merit Special Mention: Film Feature at Indie Fest  and the award of excellence for Till We Meet Again at the New York and Los Angeles International Film Festival and the latest; the Audience Award and Best Picture Jury Award at Long Beach International Film Festival 2015.

Johan has been seen playing the Norwegian Executive in the TV series Nurse Jackie together with the Golden Globe winner Edie Falco.

Johan founded that same year Nordic International Film Festival and is the president and festival director actively working to build relationships between Scandinavian and US film makers.
